Educational History emphasizes the Study of the past that focuses on educational issues. These include education systems, institutions, theories, themes and other related phenomena thus understanding the process of education and how it evolved up to the present.
According to the world’s history of education, education began in prehistory, as adults trained the young in the knowledge and skills deemed necessary in their society. In pre-literate societies, this was achieved orally and through imitation. Story-telling passed knowledge, values, and skills from one generation to the next. As cultures began to extend their knowledge beyond skills that could be readily learned through imitation, formal education developed. Schools existed in Egypt at the time of the Middle Kingdom.

Plato founded the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in Europe. The city of Alexandria in Egypt, established in 330 BCE, became the successor to Athens as the intellectual cradle of Ancient Greece. There, the great Library of Alexandria was built in the 3rd century BCE. European civilizations suffered a collapse of literacy and organization following the fall of Rome in CE 476.[4]
The evolution of education
There was a time when teachers would teach the way they had been learnt, with little regard to the needs of the student. The world changed when Howard Gardner and others came along and turned education on its head by promoting an agile teacher model. In this model the teacher — be they traditional classroom teachers or coaches, speakers or mentors – would adapt how they taught to meet the varying student needs. Some children educated themselves through self-directed play and exploration.
Education developed slowly in the African parts of the world and in the non civilized areas on the globe due to the faced challenges attached to the educational development
1. The low motivational rates in children
2. Poverty
3. Classrooms sizes
4. Family factors
5. Parents involvement
6. Wars
7. Lack of reading materials among others
Today’s education has proved a great gap from the early education due to the increased levels of the children educated and the improved attitudes towards education globally.
Ever child deserves education and it’s upon us , you and me / people with abilities. In making sure that no child irrespective of color and background is left out
